Camping

We have been wanting to go camping for awhile now, but never seemed to have a free weekend.  Well this weekend we didn't have anything going on, so we decided to go camping.  I know it's a little cold, but we thought we would be fine if we brought extra clothes and blankets.  Grant and Olivia wanted to go too, so they left a little earlier than us and found us a camp site.  We didn't end up getting off until around 6:30 or 7.  We headed up the mountain and got to Aspen Grove and called Grant and he said that the camp site was 7 miles past Aspen Grove.  So we kept driving on this really narrow road up to the top of the mountain.  I was starting to get a little nervous because it was getting dark and Grant wasn't answering his phone cause he didn't have service.  We just kept driving and as we turned this corner, there was Grant waiting for us in his car.  I was so relieved! So we followed him to our camp site.  By the time we got there it was completely dark, so we had to set up our tent in the dark.  Ugh frustrating!  We were freezing by this time, so we were anxious to get our fire started.  We tried to light our fire with some sticks, but it wasn't working.  Thank goodness Mike had brought a dura flame.  It finally started and we were making smores before we knew it.  We finally went to bed around 11, but just as we were about asleep, Grant woke up and told us that him and Olivia were going home.  They had only brought blankets to sleep on.  They didn't have a sleeping bag!  They said that the ground was freezing.  I think the high for that night was like 30-35 degrees.  So they left around probably midnight.  I don't think that I've ever slept so close to Mike because I was so cold.  It also didn't help that it was the start of the hunt, so there were trucks driving up and down the whole night.  We finally fell asleep for a couple of hours.  It was such an adventure!
