Proud American

What a relaxing weekend it was! Mike finally got a day off of work and I was so excited. He still didn't sleep in with me because he was still studying for the CPA exam. (He took the 3rd test on Monday, so on to studying for the 4th test) Anyway, when I finally woke up, ate breakfast and got going for the day, Mike was so ready to get out of the house. I wanted to clean the house really badly, so I told him to go to the driving range while I cleaned the house. I love blasting the music and cleaning the house, especially when Mike's not home so I can dance! Well by the time he got home and I was done cleaning we were really hot and wanted to cool off. We live right across the street from the Burbank city pool, so we decided to go for a dip. We both need a tan badly! So we spent a couple of hours by the pool and watched all of the crazy dads do belly flops off the diving board. It was pretty comical! The sun really wiped us out that night though. Saturday morning was a doozy for Mike. A member of our ward invited Mike to go golfing, but they had to leave by 4:50 in the morning to get there for the 6:00am tee time. So he went golfing and me and the other wife met them at the course for brunch after they were done. It was a blast! We didn't get home until around 1:30 and we were exhausted. We ended up taking a 2 hour nap! After the nap we were so lazy and didn't do anything the rest of the day. Burbank has their own fireworks show that is right up the hill from us. So we just walked outside our apartment and sat down and watched the show. So all in all it was a fun/relaxing weekend for us!

Sorry for the continuation, but I wanted to say how proud I am to be an American. I love that song "I'm Proud to be an American," it makes me cry every time I hear it. I'm thankful for the freedoms that I enjoy in this country and the luxuries I have. I love this time of year when we ALL come together to celebrate our country. I love celebrating our independence and am proud to be an AMERICAN!
